Updates Every Friday!

Hey, guys:

I just wanted to let you know I've decided to start posting on a scheduled. I am going to be adding a new blog post every Friday. My YouTube will hopefully have a new video every week also, or at least every other week. I am still re-learning how to edit videos, so I am not super efficient at it yet, so until I am better at editing I won't have a schedule for YouTube.

Simple Eyeshadow Tutorial: My Lazy-Day Makeup

Prime your lids. I am using Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Apply a cream shadow; it'll help hold the shadow. I am using NARS Soft Touch shadow pencil in Goddess. It's a pink-champagne color. Blend with your finger.

Apply a champagne colored shadow. I am using a Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm shadow (I have yet to use this as a highlighter...) and applying with a MAC 242.

Sweep a shadow that is close to your skin tone from the crease to your brow. I am using Mac Blanc Type with a Sigma E60.

Using a tapered blending brush (Sigma E45) I am putting Mac copperplate (satin medium gray) in the crease a little above.

With the tapered blending brush (Sigma E45), I am applying Urban Decay Naked (matte light brown).

Blend (Sigma E25)

Using a pencil brush (Sigma E30), I am applying Urban Decay Naked under the lash line.

Then add Mac Copperplate under the lash line.

Blend

Tightline with black (I am using Urban Decay Perversion) and line the waterline with a nude liner (Mac NC14, NW20). Curl lashes and apply black mascara.

Here's the same shadow with NARS Train Blue. This eyeshadow look can really be changed up depending on the lip color and it transitions from summer to fall quite well.

I did a quick base on my skin for the sake of the tutorial, but generally I would do my eyeshadow first and then do my base unless I was using light colors or shadows I know don't have any fall out.

The Brushes I'll be using

I use a Sigma E60, but any large rush will do for covering large areas.

Sigma E45 is my favorite tapered blending brush.

A MAC 217 and a Sigma E25 are the blending brushes I use.

I also like Sigma E35 for blending.

This is a paint brush, but I love it. I am all for buying brushes made for paining for makeup (if they are nice enough/soft enough to be used on the eye area). however, NEVER use a brush that has been used in paint on your face EVER.

E30 is a good pencil brush.

If you're doing your base first, drop a bunch of shadow under your eyes for easy clean up.

Prime your lids.

Using a MAC 242 pack on some MAC Antiqued on the lid and brush MAC Blanc Type from the crease to the brow.

Add some The balm - Matt Rosen (medium warm orange/brown) along the lash line and into the crease and blend.

Add some The balm - Matt Garcia (medium warm brown) along the lash line and into the crease.

Blend.

Add MAC - Embark along the lashline.

Blend.

Add Antiqued along the lower lashline.

Blend with UD Naked.

Line the waterline with a nude liner and tightline with a black liner.

Curl your lashes and add some black mascara and you're done!

Smokey eyes are classically paired with nude lips, however, this fall bold eyes with bold lips are something we are seeing more of. So, here's the look with NARS Train Bleu.

MAC 242 or any flat synthetic brush for packing on color, your finger also works well for a cheaper alternative.

Prep your lids. I am using Urban Decay Primer Potion.

Swipe a cream shadow from the crease to the brow (use a darker color if your complexion is darker). I am using Mac Blanc Type.

Pack on a dark gray, I am using Typographic.

Blend.

Pack on Inglot -428 (or similar color) along the whole lid.

Blend into the gray and upwards.

Add a chocolate brown/ MUFE 17 into the crease and just above, as well. I added UB Naked from the crease to the brow to make the transition from the deep blue to my pale skin less harsh.

Blend. Those with hooded lids make sure to check that your color has been blended high enough to fake a crease.

Add black/MAC Carbon along the lashline and blend the black into the blue.

Clean away the power and fall out. As you can see, some the of blue got onto my lower lash line. For smokey eyes/dark colors/shadows with lots of fallout/glitter, I highly recommend doing your eyes and then your base. Then, once you have your base on and powdered, do your lower lashline makeup.

Using a pencil brush run UD naked under your lashline.

Add some MUFE 17.

Then add the Inglot 248.

Blend the shadows on the lower lashline. Line the waterline with a nude liner and tightline with a black liner, the add some mascara.
